Body of Work > URBAN SCENES

This image is part of my Urban Series which is based on images from Manhattan. I continue to revisit this particular viewpoint as I love how the trees cut through the composition with bold dark, linear lines, while the rest of the image is portrayed with a lighter and simple palette. I added pops of red to help move your eye through the composition and kept the reflection lines fairly horizontal to combat the strong vertical elements. This piece was accepted into the 2016 Vancouver Biennale, hosted by the International Watercolour Society. That show will be up in July 2016.
