Living in close quarters like most Europeans do is a unique experience for North Americans. (aside from some major centres). These doors opened to a juliette balcony, with little room for a potted plant let alone a chair. The living room simply opened to the outside and exposed you to more sets of of doors across the road. This image touched on all the factors that I love to paint... repetition of shapes, reflection, perspective, and a sense of space.
