The jumble of rocks, and how they overlap and tumble into each other sounded simple when I started this image, but as I continued, I realized how difficult it was! Each rock isn't that challenging to paint (and as you can see, I wasn't focusing much on colour for this image), but it was where each rock met and touched another rock that was difficult. The intersections and shadowy gaps almost drove me to insanity, but I fell in love with the overall "oneness" of this painting.
