Body of Work > URBAN SCENES

I have been painting urban scenes for years, but this is the first painting from my own hometown! I have lived in Calgary all my life, and still think of it as a town when in reality it's a major urban centre with distinct charm and a unique personality. I was walking downtown one day and the light was flat and uninteresting, but I loved how this scene, with the red flags and signs really popped. This piece went to Italy for the International Watercolour Competition in 2018.
